In the days to come ...
They shall beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks; one nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again.
Come, let us walk in the light ...
Significantly, this Web Site and the work of the Isaiah 2 Movement is inspired by the Marygrove College Master’s Program in Social Justice
Kim Redigan and Elizabeth Walters, IHM , , are part of Cohort 3 and graduates in the program. We are deeply grateful to be part of this learning community and are inspired by the program to design and publish this Web site.

Colleagues in Cohort 3, Marygrove College
The Marygrove College Master’s Program in Social Justice is ideal for those interested in learning and promoting social justice and social change.
This master’s program develops competencies in conducting social analysis, understanding the dynamics of organizational development, managing the leadership of social justice initiatives, unmasking the assumptions that shape economic, political and cultural structures, and advocating effective strategies to maximize potential for social justice. A hoped for goal is to grow social justice scholar-activists.
MarygroveCollege, one of the treasures of Detroit, is located at 8425 W. McNichols, Detroit, MI 48221.

Planning Committee for the Isaiah 2 April 6, 2008 peace event with Ardeth Platte, OP and Carol Gilbert , OP
The Isaiah 2 Movement has its roots in the vision of peace articulated in Isaiah 2: They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; One nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again. Our objective is to build a local faith-based peace and disarmament movement committed to contemplation and action that is grounded in biblical and Catholic Social Teaching. Although Catholic Social Teaching will inform this work, the Isaiah 2 Movement is ecumenical in spirit and welcomes collaboration with people from all traditions. We are committed to peace, justice, human rights, and sustainability. We believe that the teachings contained in the Sermon on the Mount and Matthew 25 offer a way to live that leads to the vision of community described in Isaiah 2. We call for a rejection of the Works of War and embrace the Works of Mercy.
In addition, to our work with the Isaiah 2 Movement, we plan to use part of this Web site to encourage groups and individuals to use technology in the promotion of Peace, Justice, Human Rights, and Sustainability. This too, is part of our hope-filled work of love.
During the past year many have joined the Isaiah 2 Movement. You are welcome to be part of this.
